Members of American Indian Movement speak at #A15 Occupy Hanford

Occupy Hanford was organized to bring attention to the presence of radioactive waste in the Pacific Northwest. Indian Tribes have a multi-generational consciousness. Traditionally we do not sacrifice long term tribal stability for short term pay offs. On the other hand, the US Empire teams up with corporate oligarchs to plunder resources and move on. This is how the “West was won.” We are up against a system of state capitalism that is designed to snatch up our resources, pollute our lands and move on.

At this stage I feel like it’s our job to connect the dots between movements: the Occupy Movement, the Cascadia Movement, AIM, authentic clan and tribe institutions (as opposed to US backed tribal governments,) Old Growth Alliance, etc. Instead of using these movements to “fix” the system we should be building a regional network to replace it. Pan secession from the empire!
