Tee-Hit-Ton Indians vs. The United States
More on this later, but this court decision between the Tee Hit Ton clan of the Shtax’héen Kwáan and the United States really highlights the clash between two fundamentally different concepts of property rights. An excerpt:
5. Indian occupancy, not specifically recognized as ownership by action authorized by Congress, may be extinguished by the Government without compensation.
If you are American Indian/Alaskan Native and reading this then your blood should be boiling right about now.
